LAUREN E. TELFER
Lauren Telfer is a longtime Martinez resident who joined Rankin, Shuey, Ranucci, Mintz, Lampasona & Reynolds in October 2022. Previously, she worked in family law litigating a myriad of issues including breach of fiduciary duties, child custody, and complex asset-handling in dissolutions. Lauren attended the University of San Francisco School of Law graduating in May 2021 in the top 25% of her class. While in law school, she interned at the Marin County Public Defender’s Office where she served underprivileged, in-custody clients helping navigate their cases while assisting the Public Defenders with their caseloads. She also interned at East Bay Children’s Law Offices where she helped represent and advocate for the youth in Alameda County’s foster care. Lastly, she acted as a Law Clerk at the Tax Appeals Assistance Program, a government-sponsored program helping low-income clients on a pro bono basis appeal issues with their tax returns. One of her favorite memories from law school was serving as a Teacher’s Assistant where she had the opportunity to tutor, guide, and alleviate nerves, for first-year students in their Criminal Law and Property I and II classes.
Prior to law school, Lauren worked as an Environmental and Safety Compliance Specialist for a large road construction company. While there she developed and maintained companywide environmental compliance programs and was responsible for training new and existing employees in relevant environmental and safety regulations in accordance with OSHA standards. Lauren was certified as an OSHA 500 outreach trainer and as a Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner.
In her spare time, you will find Lauren hiking the East Bay hills with her husband and two, goofy chocolate labs, followed by a stop at a local brewery in downtown Martinez.
