GEOFFREY A. MIRES (OF COUNSEL)
Mr. Mires joined Rankin, Sproat, Mires, Reynods, Shuey & Mintz as an associate in 1982 and was promptly made a shareholder. He served for many years as the firm president and senior shareholder. He has successfully tried numerous cases on behalf of medical and legal professionals in malpractice actions before juries and arbitrators. He also has successfully represented physicians in Medical Board matters and regularly counsels medical and legal professionals in avoiding and responding to administrative investigations and actions. Mr. Mires’ three decades representing professionals has earned him preeminent ratings from his peers including an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has served as a settlement commissioner and mediator for Contra Costa and Alameda Counties. His work as a mediator has earned the respect of both sides of the bar, enabling cases to come to successful resolution.
In announcing its relocation and expansion, the Rankin firm wishes to acknowledge that its continuity is attributable to the direction, hard work, and persistence of Geoffrey A. Mires, its senior partner, who has been with the firm for the past thirty-seven years. He has exemplified the highest levels of legal acumen, ethics, and integrity consistent with the firm’s long history.
As of 2019, Mr. Mires has transitioned into an “of counsel” position with the firm with an eye toward retiring. The firm will continue to benefit from his counsel, training, and judgment in working with us and the next generation of lawyers.
